Mermaids Beyond Borders

Mermaids Beyond Borders (MBB) is a global inclusion initiative working to make marine conservation and ocean careers accessible to everyone regardless of background, location, ability, or circumstance.

We break down barriers, amplify lived experience, and support young people across the world to connect with the ocean in ways that are meaningful, inclusive, and empowering.

The ocean belongs to all of us. Protection should too.

100% of donations support youth-led projects, accessible ocean education, and community-driven conservation initiatives worldwide. Every contribution helps remove barriers and open pathways for the next generation of ocean leaders.

who we are

We believe that loving and protecting the ocean should never depend on money, geography, physical ability, or fitting into traditional scientific spaces. We work at the intersection of ocean conservation, inclusion, and community power, creating spaces where young people can learn, lead, and belong. Through accessible education, cross-cultural collaboration, and creative engagement, we are reshaping who gets to participate in protecting our blue planet.

Ocean Conservation

We support hands-on and digital conservation initiatives that centre both people and ecosystems, encouraging youth to take meaningful action for marine life.

Education Without Barriers

Through adaptive learning tools, storytelling, and creative partnerships, we make ocean knowledge accessible, engaging, and relevant to all.
